Six years of transformation and vigilance for European networks
During his first two terms, André Figueiredo led AECP in a particularly demanding environment for European Peugeot distributors. The period was marked by the health crisis, supply disruptions, the acceleration of electrification, the implementation of new distribution models within Stellantis and increasing pressure on the profitability of the networks.
While some markets have shown strong resilience, the economic performance observed within the Peugeot network remains contrasted depending on the country. This disparity remains a major focus for AECP today, which continues to advocate for a distribution model that ensures sustainable profitability for all European dealers.
Under the presidency of André Figueiredo, the association has strengthened its position as a recognized interlocutor for the brands of the Stellantis group. The work carried out has enabled dealers to actively participate in the strategic reflections impacting their business and to make their voice heard in negotiations relating to the evolution of distribution models.
“The past six years have been marked by significant transformations for our profession. While we have been able to maintain a constructive dialogue with Stellantis, we must remain clear-headed: the profitability of many networks remains under pressure and the differences between markets require constant attention. Our priority remains to ensure a sustainable future for our dealers. – André Figueiredo, President of AECP
A third term focused on European influence and value creation.
For his third term at the head of the AECP (2027-2029), André Figueiredo intends to further strengthen the role of the association in a rapidly changing sector.
Among the priorities identified are:
- Monitoring the implementation of Stellantis’ Fastlane 2030 strategic plan, around which the networks’ expectations are particularly high;
- Advocating for sustainable profitability for dealers in all European markets;
- The development of strengthened synergies with the other European associations representing the Stellantis Group’s brands;
- The creation of a more structured and influential pan-European representation in order to bring the common challenges of distributors to the Group;
- Supporting networks in transformations related to electrification, digitalization and the evolution of customer relations;
- The development of strategic partnerships with added value for the benefit of members.
AECP considers that the challenges faced by retailers now go beyond the scope of a single brand. Strengthened cooperation between the various associations representing the Stellantis networks is therefore a major opportunity to build a common vision and more effectively meet the expectations of the field.
“Our ambition for the next three years is clear: to strengthen the voice of dealers at the European level. The challenges we face are now largely transversal to the different brands of the Stellantis group. By working more together, we will be able to build a stronger, more professional and more effective representation, in the service of the sustainability of our companies and the satisfaction of our customers. – André Figueiredo, President of AECP
